Memorandum of Agreement for APEC Architects signed

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) sign a Memorandum of Agreement for the joint implementation of the APEC Architect Project in the Philippines through the APEC Architect National Monitoring Committee. PRC, CHED and UAP will established and maintain a local section of the APEC Architect Register for the enrolment of APEC Architects registered and licensed in the Philippines who will be recognized as practicing professionals in participating economies of the APEC.

The APEC Architect Project is the second APEC multi-lateral agreement on the mobility of the practice of professionals in participating economies, following after the successful establishment of the APEC Engineer Project i the country.

The signatories include: Hon. Antonietta Fortuna-Ibe, Chair of the PRC; Hon. Rolando R. Dizon, Chair of the CHED; and Arch. Robert S. Sac, National President of the UAP. The signing of the agreement was witnessed by: Ms. Dora Lejite of the PRC; Dr. Ethel Valenzuela of the CHED; Arch. Prosperidad C. Luis, Chair of the UAP Committee on APEC and ASEAN Architect Project; Engr. Joel Marciano, President of the Philippine Technological Council; Engr. Corazon Romero, Chair of the PTC International Relations Committee; and Dr. Peter Ureta, Chair of the CED Technical Panel on Engineering and Architecture Education.
